First aid for malfunctions
01 A plate is not read, or not read correctly
This can be down to the camera position or the image quality. Is the sun shining straight in? Try adjusting the camera's WDR setting to compensate.
Is the image too dark? Check that the camera's clock is correct in relation to the day/night switch, and that the switch schedule isn't set too late after summer time.
Is the lens glass clean and are plates sharp in the image? If not, refocus the lens. If needed, consult the manual on the relevant product page.
02 CAR-L grants access, but the gate or barrier doesn't respond
When a plate is read correctly and CAR-L shows 'Access granted', listen to the USB or IP relay board — you should hear the relay click.
If possible, measure whether the contact actually switches and reaches your gate or barrier. The gate or barrier may be failing, or an active safety feature may be blocking normal operation.
